Drifting to Rooted

20 Aug

Do you ever feel like you are under qualified, unprepared, and misplaced?

Like you don’t know what to say?

Like you’re not sure how you got here, but somehow you made it.

I felt like that yesterday.

Surrounded by a room of academics, introducing themselves and their professional/academic interests.

Not knowing what to say.

Feeling out of place.

A little lost and under qualified.

But then I realized that I couldn’t be there for no reason.

In others eyes I am qualified enough for this.

My inner dialogues can really be quite self-defeating.

Thank God, that I have him to reassure me.

To be my anchor and my rock.

I turn to the Lord for confidence.

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord

and have made the Lord their hope and their confidence.

They are like trees planted along a riverbank,

with roots that reach deep into the water.

Such trees are not bothered by the heat

or worried about long months of drought.

Their leaves stay green,

and they never stop producing fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8
