Humbled

7 Oct

If you think you are to important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself.

You are not that important. Galatians 6:3

Sometimes we need to be humbled.  Perhaps someone you care about will humble you or perhaps it will come straight from the Word of God.  It’s easy to get carried away thinking about ourselves. But, the danger lies in putting yourself above all else. The biggest danger comes from putting God in second place.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.

Trust him, and he will help you.

He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,

and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord,

and wait patiently for him to act. Psalm 37:5-7

We should help others.  God will help us.  There is no need to put ourselves first because it won’t bring us what we need. I love the words, “He  will make your innocence radiate like the dawn.”  It is so poetic and so true.  When you trust in God his beauty will shine through you.  Wait patiently on Him. He will lead you.

Your own ears will hear him.

Right behind you a voice will say,

“This is the way you should go” Isaiah 30:21

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts. 1 John 5:21

It’s so true, we have to be focused all the time to not put other things in first place in our lives.
