Rockin

19 Aug

The days of campfire sing alongs have graduated to living room rock sessions where everyone can be a part of the band whether or not they have any true musical talent.  The joy of rockin out in your living room is that you don’t have to be good, you can just let go and have fun.

We have 11 relatives visiting from the mainland right now.  The teenage boys started of with the rock band game and before long everyone from 5 years to 60 was enjoying themselves, singing along when they knew the words and dancing.  We were so loud that it seemed just a matter of time for the neighbors to call the cops, but we lucked out and no one rained on our parade!  I personally love being the singer, even though I often sound more like a yowling cat, it is just so fun to hold the mic and jam 😉  Honestly, it is more fun when the band is composed of bad singers and dancers because the comical relief of it all is priceless.

So when family bonding needs to be livened up a bit, I vote for rock band!
